Keeping Your Garments Looking Their Best.

Whether you consider these tips folklore, old wives tales or product hype, we've found a multitude of trivia here that really does seem to work. Use this collection of arsenal to keep your wonderful purchases - well...wonderful!

BABY WIPES:

This is our #1 recomended product to have with you at all times! From cleaning baby bottoms, dirty faces and sticky hands to removing make-up and deoderant stains, these are must-haves for every occasion. Simply work the wipe into a food stain and watch it disappear. Do a quick clean-up on dirty, dusty shoes. Erase perspiration stains and spills. There seems to be no limits for these handy little cloths.

"BOUNCE":

It's not just for the wash! These are another great carry along that provide a multitude of handy functions including combatting static cling on clothing and nylons to providing a quick "shoe polish."

"COCA--COLA":

That's right, we said "Coke." We've been told that the strength of the acid can clean grease, rust even plumbing problems. Pour some "Coke" into your wash of greasy clothes. Add detergent and let the gentle cycle break up the greasy build-up.

NAIL POLISH REMOVERS & LAQUERS:

A handly little nail kit suddenly becomes a lot more useful when it takes on a new role. Spruce up your shoes and remove scuffs by dousing a cotton ball in nail polish remover and applying it to the scuffs. Try a little clear nail laquer to brighten up and protect pearl buttons and trims as well as coating the inside of metal jewelry to prevent skin discoloration or allergies.

WASHING TIPS:

* Add some baking soda to the wash to get the whites whiter. * Dab some rubbing alcohol aver grass stains & wash. *Wash knits inside out to decrease pilling. Use scotch tape or pumice to remove excess pills. * Wash trimmed & specialty clothing inside out,in gentle cycle with light loads. Even better, wash in lingerie bags or even pillowcases for extra protection.

STORING & RE-SHAPING GARMENTS:

*Fabrics need to breathe. Don't store apparel in plastic for long periods of time. * Use padded hangers with delicate fabrics. Store/hang garments properly with zippers zipped, buttons buttoned and puff or full sleeves stuffed for support. * Steam hats until damp and stuff to smooth out creases or reshape crowns or brims. Overstuff to enlarge.

TRIMMING CARE & TIPS:

* Use a drop of fabic glue on the back of buttons to secure. * Use "Fray Check" on ribbon ends to prevent fraying. *For itchy inside seams or stitching, dab a small amount of fabric glue along the inside of a satin ribbon and attach over itchy area to prevent skin contact.

These are just a few hints at better garment care. There are many more "Tried and True" methods out there we haven't mentioned. If you have a spectacular solution to a problem, let us know. We'll provide fabric care updates including your contributions, next month!

In the meantime... Happy Wash & Wear!
